Any Day:  Metropolis AVA Walk, sponsored by Lebanon Cedar Cruisers Walking Club.  American Volkssport Association walking route available in Metropolis.  Maps and registration information for 6 mile and 3 mile routes will be available at Baymont Inn at 203 E. Every Saturday:  Farmers Market on West 6th Street near the Superman Statue.

Every Friday Night:  Renegade Pro Wrestling in arena behind El Tequila Restaurant, 1409 E. Fifth St.  7pm bell time.  Admission for adults, Children under 5 are free.

April 3:  Southern Illinois Spinners and Weavers Guild demonstrates crafts in visitor center at Fort Massac State Park.  Free.

April 3:  17th Illinois Territorial Rangers, 1811-1814 re-enactors present a living history program at Fort Massac State Park from 10am-4pm.  Free.

April 10:  Living History - Garrison for the Massiac Marines.  10am-4pm at Fort Massac State Park.  The French and Indian War period living historians will be performing a spring cleaning in the fort.  They will also begin renovating the herb garden and talk about the soldiers' herb and vegetable gardens.  Free.

April 10:  Metropolis Merchants Spring Open House.  Metropolis area businsses welcome the season as they showcase their spring merchandise.  Many businesses will offer prizes and refreshments.  

April 17:  Kevin Skinner - Live at Harrah's Riverfront Event Center, 8 p.m.  See the winner of America's Got Talent as he performs in his first live local show since ending his  Las Vegas performances.  Ticket start at $15 and are available by calling 888-512-7469 or visiting metropolis.frontgatetickets.com.

April 20-24:  Book your hotel room in Metropolis to attend the National American Quilters Society Quilt Show in Paducah, Ky. Hurry - rooms fill quickly!

April 20-22:  Shawnee Quilter's Guild Quilt Show at Harrah's Riverfront Event Center, 9am-6pm.  Guest guild River Heritage Quilters will also participate in the show with approximately 250 quilts on display as well as exhibitors and demontrations.  Free.   All ages welcome. 

April 24;  Rebuilding Together Day.  Volunteers come together to make home repairs for those in need in Massac County.

April 24:  Cache River Nature Fest.  Cache River Wetlands Visitor, just north of Metropolis on Route 37 South near Cypress.  Guided canoe tours and nature hikes offered. Hands-on activities for kids and live animals to touch and see close-up.  Audobon members and resourse staff will provide birding tips.   Free.

April 29-May 1: Antique Automobile Club of America Central Division Spring Meet and Car Show at Fort Massac State Park.  Hundreds of antique vehicles to be on display.  Free to spectators.
