March 3 from 10:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. :  Southern Illinois Spinners and Weavers Guild demonstrating crafts in visitor center at Fort Massac State Park.  Free.

March 9-1-: Comic Con : The city best known for its super hero connection will be the site of a comic book and toy show - Comic Con Metropolis -  on Friday and Saturday, March 9-10.  The event will be held at the Metropolis Community Center at 900 W. 10th St., Metropolis.
 
March 10-11 from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. on Saturday the 10th and from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Sunday the 11th:  L'ecole du Soldat or School of the Soldier will be held for French troops at Fort Massac State Park.  French and Indian War period living historians from throughout the midwest will attend this two-day training session.  See the Marines as they learn the weapons drills, marching and tactical maneuvers of the French military in the 1750s.  Free.
