Every Friday & Saturday Night: Renegade Pro Wrestling in arena behind El Tequila Restaurant, 1409 E. Fifth St. 7pm bell time. Admission for adults, Children under 5 are free. Sept. 1 from 10:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. : Southern Illinois Spinners and Weavers Guild demonstrate crafts at visitors center at Fort Massac State Park. Free. Sept. 3: Metropolis Labor Day Celebration. Free - Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy! Sept. 8 from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. : Garrison for the Massiac Marines at Fort Massac State Park. The French and Indian War period living historians will present displays and interpretive programs on the 18th century taverne life and brewing. Many homes would have had their own brewing house in those times. Also you will learn more about how taverns were the center of news and entertainment. Free. Sept. 8-9: Super City/Quilt Connection: A Celebration of Arts Between Two Cities. Events will be held at Harrah's Riverfront Event Center in Metropolis and the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, Ky. Events include Massac Quilters Quilt Show, lectures, demonstrations, exhibitors and more. For more information, call Metropolis Tourism at 877-424-5025. Sept. 15 from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. : The 17th Illinois Territorial Rangers, 1811-1814 re-enactors, present a living history program at Fort Massac State Park. Free.
