Any Day: Metropolis AVA Walk, sponsored by Lebanon Cedar Cruisers Walking Club. American Volkssport Association walking route available in Metropolis. Maps and registration information for 6 mile and 3 mile routes will be available at Baymont Inn at 203 E. Front St. For more information, contact Metropolis Tourism at 877-424-5025. Every Friday Night: Renegade Pro Wrestling in arena behind El Tequila Restaurant, 1409 E. Fifth St. 7pm bell time. Admission for adults, Children under 5 are free. Oct. 2: Southern Illinois Spinners and Weavers Guild demonstrates crafts at the visitors center at Fort Massac State Park, 10am-3:30pm. Free.
Oct. 8-9: 10th Annual Super City Blues & Ques Festival on Ferry Street. BBQ competition and live music along Ferry Street near the riverfront. Free. Oct. 16-17: 37th Annual Grand Fort Massac Encampment at Fort Massac State Park, Military and civilian craft activites and demonstrations both days. Pre-1840 period living historians will present displays, food, music and interpretive programs from the 18th and early 19th centuries. Each day will showcase opening and closing pageantry, minstrel shows, a return of the voyageur canoe and mock battles for all to enjoy. Other highlights include traders, children's game, and a large food court. 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. daily. Free. Oct. 18-24: Pioneer Pool League National Championship at Harrah's Riverfront Event Center.
