Nov. 6.  Southern Illinois Spinners and Weavers Guild demonstrate crafts at visitors center in Fort Massac State Park, 10am-3:30pm.  Free

Nov. 13:  Garrison for the Massiac Marines, 10am-4pm at Fort Massac State Park.  The French and Indian War period living historians will present displays and interpretive programs on celebrating the harvest.  At this time of plenty, you will learn about the foods of the period, recipes and spices used, and how they cooked their food over the fire.   Free.

Nov. 14:  Metropolis Merchants Christmas Open House.  Area florists, gift shops and clothing stores open on Sunday to welcome the holiday season. Most offer door prizes and refreshments.
