June 23-25, 2009

There will be a one time only $15.00 Shooters fee that will cover up to 3 days of shooting.

Shooters may shoot from 9 AM - 3 PM Daily, all scorecards must be submitted no later than 6 PM.  

 Shooters will be categorized based on their ASA Class and will only be shooting against this class.  Should there only be one entry in a class that shooter will be assigned to compete with a "like" class.

The pay out structure will be similar to that of the ASA organization. 

Prizes are as follows: 
1st-$200     2nd-$150     3rd-$100
4th-$75.00     5th-$50.00

The number of pay outs will be determined by the number of participants in that category

Superman Celebration

superman-festival.jpgThe second weekend in June is devoted to the annual Superman Celebration.  This one-of-a-kind event is dedicated to Metropolis’ favorite son, Superman!  Complete with entertainment, celebrity appearances and even a $1000 Superhero Costume Contest this celebration is a must see event!

ASA Archery Tournament

archery.jpgFor over a decade the city of Metropolis has hosted the ASA Illinois Pro/Am Championship at Mermet Nature Conservation Area.  Archers from all over North America converge on Metropolis for one week in June to compete for cash and prizes and the title of Illinois Champion.

Ft. Massac Encampment

ftmcamp.jpgIn honor of the heritage of Fort Massac State Park, the third weekend in October is devoted to the annual Fort Massac Encampment. This event draws over 160,000 visitors and brings the Fort to life with re-enactors, period arts and crafts, delicious food and mock battles. Set against the colorful backdrop of Southern Illinois in the fall, this is a wonderful time to visit Metropolis.
